  • Approaching the New Year

As I am approaching closer to a new year, I am reflecting on my life, where I’ve been and where I am heading. I can’t help but think about the last few years, the experiences that I chose, and how grateful I am for the opportunities. I had a physical injury that cause a set back on something I wanted and the follow through despite the injury wasn’t graceful. I felt a great disappointment having to step back and slow the pursuit down. I had to examine where I was coming from and where I was at. I had to ask myself do I stay disappointed, do I stay stuck or do I figure out what to do next and where do I go from here. I have been spending time working with my spiritual and personal growth which I will continue to do no matter my situation. One thing I have learned, it is hard doing this by myself. People that I counted on weren’t there to help you through. I made a commitment to myself that I had to do whatever work I needed to get me to the place where I knew that God wanted me, it will always be a work in progress. I pursued another area in my life that has been rewarding in so many ways, writing, a remarkable gift to my soul. I have always journaled about events in my life but I wanted to take my writing further. I’ve had the good fortune to be part of inspiring writing programs and meeting other talented and supportive writers. Today, I woke up realizing that I am exactly where I need to be at this very moment.
